The club Pacha from Ibiza has been this summer's ambassador for great parties and hosted some of the hottest DJs of the moment. Pete Tong's Pure Pacha night has been going from strength to strength with guests such as Laurent Garnier, Groove Armada and David Guetta already gracing the decks and keeping the party goers dancing and smiling all night long. Says Pete: "After a flying start it keeps getting better a better... the dancers and décor are the best we've ever had and it looks like it's going to be amazing season"
Lately Nikki Wright from IMD has picked up Danny Howells and has a little chat with him. For those whom didn't catched him play yet, Danny Howells is a DJ with a broad musical taste who likes anything from jazz to rock, to pop and anything a bit bizarre. He likes to champion his own special tracks and records that nobody else has latched on to and has a way of combining cutting edge grooves with crowd pleasing dynamics that enable him to connect with his audience making him one of the hottest DJs in the world.
Danny Howells:Totally! I always enjoy Pacha, and I always enjoy playing with Pete too. He's always the perfect host!
<IMD: Have you played with Pete at any other venues around the world this year?
Danny Howells: Well there are a lot of festivals we've both been at but often we play different stages or different times. Off the top of my head I think our last proper gig together would have been Space in Miami, during WMC.
IMD: Pure Pacha will celebrate its 4th successful year on the island this season, what do you think has made it such a success?
Danny Howells: Well as I play there each year I'm going to say it's down to the quality of the DJs!
IMD: What do you think about Jade Jagger teaming up with Pete to host the Global room with her Jezebel Parties? Will you be partying with her?
Danny Howells: I don't think she'd like partying with me too much, I'm such a big fan of her dad I'd be asking her questions about him all night long. She'd get sick of me.
IMD: Pacha is one of the most famous clubbing brands in the world, what is so special about playing at Pacha in Ibiza?
Danny Howells: The beautiful venue to start, and obviously the beautiful people who come and party. There's great sound and attention to production and so on which makes for a great night for anyone.
IMD: Pacha has over 20 franchises worldwide from Barcelona to Buenos Aires and Majorca to Marrakech. What other Pacha clubs have you played at and did you enjoy it?
Danny Howells: I've played a few, Tel Aviv and Buenos Aires spring to mind as I played those quite a few times. Also in Hungary. I'm looking forward to playing Pacha New York later this year as well as I had great experiences at the other venues.
IMD: What can we expect from your set at Pure Pacha?
Danny Howells: I probably won't know until the night but possibly the usual mix of anything from deep house to techno.
IMD: Are you playing at any pre parties before you set at Pure Pacha?
Danny Howells: I'll probably be with Pete at his pre-party, get myself in the mood for the main event.

Danny Howells: No. I'm usually straight to the hotel and get ready for my next flight! I get too tired these days and if I party too much then I risk messing things up at the next gig.
IMD: When it all gets a bit much, where is your favorite place to get away from it all and chill out?
Danny Howells: Home!!! Nothing beats waking up in my own bed although I frequently wake up to hear the phone ringing and assume that it's the front desk trying to kick me out of my room!
IMD: Describe your perfect day in Ibiza.
Danny Howells: Well, as I'm quite allergic to sunlight it's difficult to have a perfect day! Generally I like wandering around, getting lost and doing plenty of shopping.
IMD: When was your first visit to Ibiza an what was it like?
Danny Howells: Not much fun really I'm afraid. I had no money and did three disastrous gigs and didn't get paid for them. It was quite stressful as I couldn't eat properly and therefore I didn't have a great first impression from a DJ sense.
IMD: And finally, what current projects are you working on? Do you have any productions or albums in the pipeline we can look forward too?
Danny Howells: There are bits and pieces. We're working on a remix of the new single by Bent, as well as putting the finishing touches to our next single too. Hopefully we'll have it done by the end of next year!
