M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade - Body Language (The Remixes)

Both M.a.n.d.y. and Booka Shade are part of the new-coming wave of minimalist deep house with hints of techno and electro music, near to Ame and other such names. 'Body Language', their breakthrough track, got a lot of radio and club play, so these following remixes were a natural sequel to one of the most intense hits of the past few years.

Jona remix
The track begins sweetly, yet firmly, with a classical kick around which atmospheric synths start building-up, giving the impression that it's a new track all together. Well, it's not. The massive use of samples from the original song comes out eventually, but that doesn't mean it's not to be listened to. The element that gives its originality is a "drip drip" sound that comes in brilliantly in the middle of the track. Not static, very rhythmic, the song has its ups and downs, but the overall flow is great. This one is sure to become floor filler.

Radioslave remix
Anyone who is familiar with the Radioslave sound will surely recognise the outstanding samples that make this artist so unique in sound also in this remix. Certain fragments remind us of caged baby's hello there, and this track doesn't fall back at all. Very atmospheric, very deep and sensual, I could even call it sensitive, the remix flows nicely into a track that will for sure be a massive one for this winter. Also the fact that few samples from the original piece were used makes me say that Radioslave is indeed a fantastic remixer. However, the down, then up tempo of the track could have been better, that's for sure. But this is my personal choice of the three remixes reviewed.

Sterac Electronics remix
A bit sudden the beginning of this one, as we are introduced to the" all-so-played" sample of the original piece even from the first synths of the remix. Some trancy sounds on the background dramatise the tune to the point where you feel like skipping to another fragment. However, the breaky/techy sound gets to you if you're a fan, but I strongly recommend the other two pieces of the disc.
