Christian Smith presents Ekspozicija 05: Tronic Treatment

Owner of Tronic Music record label, Tronic Treatment DJ residency in Barcelona and still Tronic Treatment club in New York, Christian Smith hits the scene again. Hailing from Swedes, he spends a very big time in Barcelona, where he owns his night. With the help of the Slovenian record label Explicit Musick (co-founded by Umek), Christian Smith has just compiled a new mix CD under his Tronic Treatment belt, due out at the middle of November. This is the fifth compilation from the 'Ekspozicija' series, after the likes of DJ Rush, Marco Bayley, Cristian Varela and Slam.

This mix CD contains a good taste musical selection of some of the freshest and actualised tracks at the moment, which already are 'haunting' the clubs for some months by now. It all starts warm with the track Over the Hill by Agaric, and after we enter the minimal techno atmosphere, the delectation comes from Frankie si Layo & Bushwacka! with a cool and driving sound. Once the Plastikman's remix enter the stage, the mix gets another sound and feeling, it goes away from the minimalist side and starts to acquire a shape of techno. It easily builds up the tension and the energy, just like when you climb a hill – it's not the same as it was in the beginning, it becomes harder.

A track which will work fine for sure it's the Trespass production from Booka Shade. Still hot and which surprisingly catches the public, this tune has that rhythm capable of doing 'damages' on the dance floor and make everybody move. Those whom are not familiarised with the Smith & Selway, more exactly Christian Smith and his studio partner John Selway, can discover three of their productions on this compilation. The first one is a remix by Ozgur Can, and a little bit late Walk the Walk and Finca Dofi (Filthy mix), proper banging techno. It's not too fast or disorganized, but it has a dement rhythm which doesn't let you sit for a minute. This should be one of Christian Smith's DJ set qualities. From this moment, the last part of the mix transforms in 100& techno. In the main roles it's Antoine Clamaran, Percy X with a really cool release on Soma, and for the final the excellent Technasia with the tune 'Dominando'. And all ends up with a rough techno electro from Kiko.

Christian Smith's Ekspozicija 05 is a delicious construction from the minimal techno and tech-house to the refined and driving techno. Better and better, the Slovenian record label has a very good initiative by releasing this series of compilations, with a specific sound, each one of them including inside of it a story about the techno roots of the artist who compiles it.
