Loco Dice - Menina Brasileria

The A side is a deep organic track with warm chords set over a buzzing background. The mood is made more complex with touches of minimalism and a rather haunting siren. Generically this track is typical of the softer sound Josh Wink has a real appreciation of, and of which his label is active in promoting. So although it is unlikely to set the dancefloor alight it has all the right qualities to make you sit back, relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of electronic music.

'Jacuzzi Games' is a different story altogether. Powered along by a dark and hypnotic drum pattern it is pretty clear that Loco Dice had the centre of his DC10 dancefloor in mind for this offering. It has a healthy dose of the hyper-now minimal sound with its eerie percussion running over the main structure, but the real feature of this track is the live feeling bass line, and when it drops in it transforms the track, giving it a funky element that is so often missing from the current minimal movement. Add on top of this a simple but dangerously effective melody and an irresistible build and this track should be destined to destroy a lot more than the four walls of DC10.
